Agnes Bannigan has been writing and dreaming of being a writer since she was a little girl growing up in the small town of Damascus, Maryland. Fortunately, she’s matured into the writer she’s always wanted to be, living in Manhattan and supporting other aspiring writers along the way. She’s worked in educational and academic publishing for 10 years, including having positions with the National Science Teachers Association Press in Washington, D.C., and Oxford University Press in New York, NY. She’s currently working as a tutor and freelancer, writing and editing K-12 English language curriculum and assessments. She also works with budding and published authors to develop and polish their fiction manuscripts. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Elon University in North Carolina, and holds a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from the University of Maryland where she also taught academic writing and creative writing for six years. She’s excited to bring her experience in education as well as her experience in creative writing to The Creative Writing Club.
