Anna B. Wilkes grew up in Falls Church, Virginia, and has since lived in Florida, Tennessee, and New Jersey. In May of 2016, she earned her MFA in poetry from Rutgers University-Newark. In 2012, she was the winner of the Margaret Artley Woodruff award, the highest award given to undergraduate writers at the University of Tennessee, where she earned her BA in English. She was an English tutor at Pellissippi State Community College for three years, and has been teaching freshman composition for two years at Rutgers. She is also a freelance tutor, copy editor, and Her work has been featured in Apogee, Regardless of Authority, and The Satirist. She is currently working on her first full collection of poems.
