Bo Fisher is finishing his MA in English Literature at Fordham University where he is also a Teacher’s Assistant in the Gabelli School of Business. For his MA Capstone project he is studying David Walker’s
Appeal to the Coloured Citizens of the World and, specifically, is working to uncover neglected instances of nineteenth century black reader response to
Appeal and its radical call-to-action. Besides his academic work, he is also a writer of short fiction; his work has appeared in
Monkeybicycle, Potluck, The Fordham Observer, Contraposition, and
The Underground. In the summer of 2015 he founded a small literary journal,
Uptown 1, of which he is the editor-in-chief. One can read the inaugural issue online at
https://uptown1litjournal.wixsite.com/uptown-1. He hopes to one day soon expand the journal’s staff and begin publishing issues quarterly. He received his BA in English Literature from the College of Mount Saint Vincent and is originally from Columbus, Ohio.
